Retail programs don't forgive missed SLAs.
Getting approved as a dropship vendor is the easy part. Then the retailer's rules kick in: handling times, label formats, packing requirements, ship confirmations. Miss them and the chargebacks start, and enough of them puts the program at risk.
Most DTC-focused 3PLs aren't set up for EDI or retailer compliance, so brands end up running two providers, one for DTC and one for retail, with inventory split between them.
At Stride, retail dropship, wholesale and DTC run from one warehouse and one inventory pool, with a team that already works to retailer requirements every day.

Retail dropship and EDI FAQs
What is retail dropship fulfillment?
The retailer sells your product on their site, sends the order to you, and your 3PL ships it straight to the retailer's customer under the retailer's rules. You keep the inventory; the retailer never touches it.
What is EDI and why do retailers require it?
EDI, or electronic data interchange, is how large retailers send purchase orders and receive shipment confirmations and invoices automatically. Most big-box dropship and wholesale programs require it.
How do you avoid retailer chargebacks?
By following each retailer's packing, labeling and routing rules, and shipping inside their handling window. On our current retail dropship program we ship with 1-day handling against a 2-day requirement and have had zero chargebacks.
Can you handle DTC and retail from the same inventory?
Yes. DTC, Amazon, dropship and wholesale orders all ship from one warehouse and one inventory pool.
Do you ship wholesale orders to retailer DCs?
Yes. We ship carton and palletized orders, and as a licensed freight broker we can book the LTL or FTL freight.
Where is your warehouse?
Rowland Heights, California, in the LA/Ontario freight corridor, about 30 miles from the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
